Christian converts in Stockholm held an event for ” International day of the victims of enforced disapearance” on 30th of August

Enforced disappearance is an international crime and against humanity.

The United Nations has named 30th of August as a day to commemorate the enforced disappearances.

This organization has registered the names and files of about 518 Iranians who have been forcibly disappeared by the regime of the Islamic Republic, although the actual number is much higher.

The Islamic regime ruling in Iran and its affiliates caused unimaginable suffering by annihilating a number of its opponents, political, religious and civic activists as well as journalists, religious and religious minorities, students, dissenters, intellectuals, etc. The regime also has forced suffering to their families as they don’t close any information such as the name, address or even a grave of these victims. The regime is neither responsible for the fate of any of these victims.

Human rights organizations and activists, the international community and Iranian freedom seekers should take an action and use the maximum capacity to hold the the regime accountable for this crime.

With the increase in the number of victims of disappearances in some parts of the world, in 2011, the United Nations decided to declare 30th of August as the International Day of Disappeared Victims by resorting to force.

According to the international law, “enforced disappeared victim” is a person who is arrested or abducted by government or government-affiliated forces and his/her fate or whereabouts as well as news and information about this person are kept secret or not allowed to be published. In such a way the person is actually removed from the protection of the law.

The United Nations has so far registered the names and files of more than 500 people who have been forcibly disappeared by the Islamic regime ruling in Iran. This regime does not comment on the fate of these people. The preliminary research of the Justice organization for Iran, however, shows that the number of enforced disappearances in Iran is much higher than the names registered in the United Nation’s Working Group.
