Gathering of Iranian Christian Converts in Stockholm on Cyrus the Great Day
On October 29, 2025, a group of Iranian Christian converts gathered in Stockholm to commemorate the 7th of Aban, known as Cyrus the Great Day.
The gathering was held to honor Cyrus the Great, founder of the Achaemenid Empire and widely recognized as the author of the first charter of human rights.
Participants highlighted the deprivation of fundamental rights faced by Christian converts in Iran, including the right to choose and change their religion, the right to work, pursue education, and have a place of worship. They emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of Cyrus the Great, particularly his commitment to religious freedom and human rights.
The participants also criticized the systematic persecution of Christian converts in Iran and called for an end to the arrests, imprisonment, and torture of these individuals on what they described as baseless national security charges.
They stressed that more than 25 centuries ago, Cyrus the Great recognized and upheld the right of every individual to choose and change their religion, while today many Iranians are denied this fundamental right in their own homeland.
