Gathering of Christian Converts in Stockholm on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
Organized by a group of Christian converts, a gathering was held in Stockholm to mark November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Participants commemorated the occasion while calling for an end to state-sponsored violence in Iran and the cycle of violence against women within families and society.
Speakers at the event emphasized that women make up half of the country’s population and stressed that any society in which women are denied dignity, respect, and security is destined for cultural and social decline.
During the gathering, participants also stated that Iranian women, as some of the earliest victims of the Islamic Republic’s policies, have consistently stood at the forefront of the struggle against the ruling system. They highlighted the important role women have played in advocating for freedom, justice, and equal rights despite decades of discrimination and repression.
