Celebrating the birthday of “Majidreza Rahnavard” in Stockholm

Simultaneously with the birthday of Majidreza Rahnavard, a group of #Christian converts and members of #I_am_a_Christian_too campaign honored his memory in front of the Swedish Parliament in Stockholm.
Majid Reza Rahnavard was an Iranian wrestler and young protester who was arrested by the security agencies during the nationwide uprising of Iranians in 2022. He had a lion and sun tattoo (symbol of Iranian national flag) on his forearm, and after pictures of him were published in Iranian media, it was seen that his hand was broken by agents of regime as a matter of this tatoo. He also suffered from severe tortures for supporting and having this tatoo on his arm. This young Iranian protester was sentenced to death by the judiciary in less than a month after his arrest and executed.

After the execution of Majidreza, the Islamic Republic published a video of him, surrounded by oppressors and in response to the Islamic Republic’s reporter, asking about his will after his death he replied:
“I don’t like people to cry at the grave, I don’t like them to pray and read the Quran for me. Instead let them be happy and play happy songs.”

In 2022 the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic announced that Majidreza Rahnavard was a protester who was executed”in public” in Mashhad 23 days after his arrest on the morning of Monday, 12th of December.
The execution of Majid Reza Rahnavard took place while the people of Mashhad participated in night protests against the execution of Mohsen Shekari a former protester who was executed four days earlier in Tehran.
The publication of the forced confession of Majidreza Rahnavard by the state media, withe the broken hand and in plaster because of his lion and sun tattoo on it (symbol of national flag of Iran) once again raised criticism of the process of obtaining confessions by force, pressure and torture in Iranian prisons.
The agents of the Islamic Republic called his parents on the morning of his execution and informed them of the execution and said that they buried him themselves. “His parents could not see him for the last time, which is pure cruelty.”
The execution of the death sentence 23 days after arrest is reminiscent of field courts, and even the process of issuing sentences in Iran was not so fast before.
According to the latest information leaked from the case of Majidreza Rahnavard, the judicial authorities did not ask the family of the plaintiffs for the execution of his death sentence and “kept Majidreza’s lifeless body on the gallows for about 30 minutes.”
